  • 1 30 oz bag frozen shredded hashbrowns
  • 1 can 10.5 oz condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup diced onions optional
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ½ cup melted butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: crumbled bacon extra cheese, panko breadcrumbs, chopped herbs

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch casserole dish.
  2. In a large bowl, mix hashbrowns, soup, cheese, sour cream, melted butter, onions, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Spread mixture evenly into the prepared casserole dish.
  4. Bake uncovered for 45-50 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  5. Optional: Sprinkle extra toppings like cheese, bacon, or panko breadcrumbs for the last 10 minutes of baking.
  6. Let casserole rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
